Purpose

The title was meant to explain what this blog exists for. The blogs purpose.
But I suppose the word purpose has special meaning to me right now.
I quit a pretty good job with nice perks, I left a beautiful summer in a gorgeous place filled with friends, bbqs, and beaches, and I left behind my wife in a foreign country(temporarily people!), for what purpose?
To Snowboard?
Does that make sense to anyone? It doesn't fully to me, but it's a basic summary of what I did. Yes I came to visit and see my dearly missed friends and family, but my wife is coming after that lovely summer to visit. And sure there was some re-evaluation of my direction in life. But the simple, basic answer is to snowboard. It is my purpose. I've always tended to be nervous about committing to one direction in my life. It's easy to justify one failure if you can list the other successes(even if they're just mediocrity). This year I'm spending 3 months of my adult life dedicated to snowboarding, to improving, to being a better teaching, to loving the bum lifestyle. I don't know what happens to certain parts of my life(job, location, house) after April 14th. I just know I'll be back in New Zealand, 2 months from the start of another winter...
Purpose is a bit scary.

Now back to the original meaning: This blog is meant to be a summary of my life over my 106 days of snowboarding, catching up with old friends, family and places, and enjoying the grandeur of the Northwestern portion of the US(and Canada), along with some beers!
